motivational design week, day 6

day 6: bathrooms

bathrooms are another space where i don't exactly know how you're supposed to decorate. because there's just like...a toilet. haha. dont worry though, i'll still try my best. also, i will definitely refer to these pictures from hgtv.

also, once again i am curious to know how you decorate your bathroom!! do you incorporate flowers or fake greenery, stick to art, or add other special touches??

Honestly....think SPA!! That's what I did when I did my master bath. We switched the curtain bar to one of those curved ones. Made sure there was soft pale warm yellow lighting. A bronze colored wall mounted lighted circle make-up mirror. All calming natural colors....like sage green, nutmeg brown, eggshell with touches of pale aqua. Accent with bamboo, wood, curvy frosted glass, leaves, pea green flowers, spa lotions, soaps....endless. My Spa Deck (deck of cards with spa treatment recipies) resides on a wall mounted shelf with flowers, collected beach glass and shells, small wood vase with a single flower, white hydrangea and a tiny herbal book.
Think Spa....not toilet!

ohhh, i was so excited to have a guest bathroom to decorate when we moved. i am doing an asian theme and the colors i am using are beige, reds, and black. but you know that, you've seen it. haha and yeah, i want to put some greenery in there but i am waiting to find the perfect/cheap thing. haha

that last photo is almost exactly the same color as our master bath. i love it in there. (that's weird, isn't it?)

I've always though the bathroom was one of the hardest to decorate. Most are small spaces, too, so there's only so much you can do. These pics are gorgeous. Especially the last one.

I have tall wainscotting in my bathroom, and it totally glams it up. Plus a big big big mirror. No art though, because I worry about humidity hurting prints, even with a fan going.

When Kev finally finished our bathroom I was so thrilled I just sat on the floor in there for a while, even though it's tiny!

Towels...cute towels. That, and then pictures on the walls. i also like having cute canisters on the counter filled with cotton balls and Q-tips.
