electroshocker by day...

ok, so these pictures are not of us, i got them from google images, but they show what we did today in our lab. we went to the provo river and did electroshocking. this sends an electrical current through the fish and draws them up like a magnet, and then people with nets catch them. then we put them in a bucket, and then measured them. they were tricky to catch sometimes. at least for me. i liked touching them tho and looking at them in the bucket and going "fishiiiiiies!!!"

this is the measuring part. we measured mostly brown trout, just like in this picture. the largest fish we caught was 48 cm. it was fun. we had big old chest waders on, and we were stumbling around in the river. it was really cold, and my nose and hands were freezing. but it was fun.

so that was our lab today. now, on another note...

i think our cat broke his leg. if he is still limping tomorrow morning i am going to call the vet for sure. here is a picture of him tonight when i was putting away dishes and he jumped in. he is so cute. so i had to take a picture. i promise our dishes are clean tho haha.

I am so glad that there are people like you who are willing to touch fish and not be completely disgusted. :)
